Honorary President

Founded in 1946, The Caledonian Society of Norway aims to brigde cultural relationships between Norway and Scotland.

From our Whisky Tasting in September, to our Annual General Meeting in April, we have monthly events that provide a variety of ways that our members and their guest can get together and explore friendships and all things Scotland in a formal setting.

Having previously served as Honorary Vice President, I stepped into the role as Honorary President in 2022.

The Society was founded as a Gentlemans Society. Having wanted to change that for a long time, I am very proud that we with an overwhelming majority of the vote, managed to do so at our last Annual General Meeting. "The Cally" is now open for all eligible members, regardless of gender.

I believe the essence of any group is the format in which it meets and the tone of interactions. And being the son of a Scottish mother, I find women also relevant to this (and all!) organisation.

Pictured on the photo is British Ambassador to Norway, his Excellency Richard Wood in attendance as our Guest of Honour at our annual Burns Night Supper.
